How to become a successful High Fashion Model

If you are a lover of high fashion and got the looks to go along with the passion, then I think you are a career model and a high fashion model. There are certain things every aspiring high fashion model needs in order to be successful and have longevity in the industry. Some of these factors you have very little control over, such as your height and ethnicity.

Female models have an average height ranging between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches. Male models are usually between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 3 inches. Don't worry about factors you can't control. Only focus on the things you can.

Here are few things you should Ponder over:

1. Invest time and effort into learning your craft.
Enroll in a reputable modeling school that teaches you various modeling techniques. Very soon career models will start it's modelling classes. If you don't know of any reputable modeling classes in your area, your are free to contact us and we will help search for one for you in your area. If you find a class your are interested in, ask the class instructor if you can audit the class a couple of times to see if it is a good fit for you. Apart from the class also invest more Tim's in making research online and meeting other models in that same modelling niche.

2. Make friends with Fashion Designers and as well fashion models.
You are not just in the game alone, you got senior colleagues, make them your best friends, go close to them to learn more. You also have to look out for good fashion designers and make them your good friends, in so doing it will help enhancing your dress patterns and also give you more ideas on fashion.

3. Visit a photo studio to get professional photographs.
It's just cool and fun when you go for photo sections, look for a professional photographer to get professional photographs. Go easy on the makeup during your photo shoot. The makeup should only enhance your natural beauty, not cover it up. You need several different shots, including a close-up head shot, a full-body shot and a quarter-body shot. You don't have to wear the same clothes in each of your shots. Feel free to change your clothing and look to show versatility.

4. Pick out three to five of your favorite pictures from the photo shoot.
Turn your pictures into a comp card. A comp card is simply a collage of your pictures combined onto one sheet of photograph paper. The comp card includes your name, contact information, height, weight, clothing sizes, shoe size, hair color and eye color.

5. Look for modeling casting calls through online casting call boards.
Most of these casting calls are viewable for free. However, there are a few sites that may charge a monthly membership fee to view casting calls.

6. Submit your comp card to casting directors when you see a casting call you are interested in.
In most cases, the casting director requires an e-mail submission of your comp card and modeling resume. In other cases, the casting director may request postal mail submissions.

7. Keep a pictorial record of your booked gigs.
These pictorial records are referred to as “tear sheets.” For instance, if you book a gig for magazine print work, tear the picture out of the magazine and make it a part of your pictorial portfolio.

8. Get an agent to work for you.
Search out modeling agencies that are looking for new clients. When you find an agency you are interested in, submit a representation request, along with your comp card and portfolio. If the agent likes your look, she will bring you in for an interview and offer you a representation contract. Never give upfront payments to an agent or agency. Any agent or agency requesting upfront payments is likely a scam. A legitimate agency only gets paid when she finds you work.
